Grief and the Weather

Its darker outside. I don’t hate it, though. I will soon, but I don’t yet. Except its way harder to get up in the mornings, WOW.

I’d say its darker outside, but its not necessarily darker inside. I don’t know how to explain it. Grief is so complicated.

I obviously ache for my husband. I have dearly loved being married to Brady. We both thought it would be harder being married, but were pleasantly surprised at how much we truly enjoyed it. The partnership. The camaraderie. Witness each others lives. Building our family. Making memories. I can’t believe he’s gone. Yet, every night I don’t have him beside me in our room, it is made more and more obvious to me.

But there are positives. Positives that come with the peace that only God can provide. I am honestly SO HAPPY for Brady to finally be free from the holds of the world. He has no more sorrow. No pain. No struggle. No more disability or illness or appointments or treatments or unpredictability of things that just hang him up and hold him back further and further. What a beautiful relief for him!!

The rest of us, however, still have those things. Our earthly bodies are still here, and our lives continue. It is odd that things just keep going whether he is with us or not. But thank God for God! Because HE is with us, and HE is our comfort and our strength!!

Thank you, Lord, for never leaving us hanging 💜 It is so clear that we are not alone.
