An Enormous Gift from Family

Today, my mom and her siblings all got together and arranged to have our bus detailed. Top to bottom. Car seats included.

😭

Guys. This is the BEST thing. I can’t even express to you how much space this GIANT mess has been taking up in my brain for the last few weeks season year or so. From all the meals eaten during foster visits, road trips to the lake, doctors appointments, etc. things were SO far gone. Not to mention all the coffees and milkshakes spilled. It was just such an enormous mess in there. I had plans to employ a kid or two to take the hand broom and sweep out the worst of it, at least, and pay them a bit. But perhaps you’ve heard – our summer got a little hairy as of late and we haven’t exactly prioritized it. Yet, every time I set foot in the van I am embarrassed by how awful it looked. Every time someone lovingly helps a kid into the van or out of the van or comes to unload something, I feel compelled to excuse its appearance. And NO ONE judges me about it, but I just haaaaate it.

And now, I don’t have to. As Cher would say, its back to factory. Its beautiful and clean. Vacuumed. Polished. Clean cupholders. Shiny. And it smells great! Car seats are still drying, and they look brand new.

This right here was an INCREDIBLE gift. And not one I would’ve ever justified purchasing for myself. What an enormous weight lifted off my shoulders.

To my aunts and uncles, and my mom, THANK YOU. This is above and beyond what anyone needed to do. Bonus points for those who helped driving the bus to and from Warman. I literally did not lift a finger for this, and its a scooch surreal. But I am so unbelievably grateful, and all I can say is thank you again and again.

So. Thank you.
