Weekend Away #2

We spent the rest of Saturday at box stores, and dropped way too much money ay Ikea, as usual. Once we completed our shopping spree, we went back to our hotel and ordered pizza and breadsticks. The delivery guy came early, which was a HUGE relief since we had forgotten to eat lunch and didn’t want to eat all  of Dekker’s Cheerios. Save some for the baby, right? We gorged ourselves with pepperoni pizza and cheesy breadsticks and watched “Lost.”

I was completely exhausted and dozing in and out by 10:00pm. I KNOW! It was insane. It was the first time since we’d been married that I had been so tired when Brady was so awake. He laughed at me, and I defended myself weakly, knowing it was super out of character for me to be so tired. My excuse – power shopping. I was dead to the world by about 10:10pm.

Turns out my early bedtime was a good decision. We were up around 7am so we could repack, get Dekker up and fed, and be out the door by 8am to meet up with more family for more breakfast. We had a great visit with my brother, sister in law, and nephew. They’re expecting a new addition this week!!! I’m sad that we’ll miss the exciting event by so few days but I’m glad we came when we did 🙂 Their new house is beautiful and ready for baby. It was so nice to catch up over coffee and cinnamon buns too. Who can complain?! On our way out, we toured their vehicle for a few minutes. We were originally going to Edmonton to trade in our vehicle for something bigger, but that had fallen through, since Mazda doesn’t really have anything that caters to the size of family that we’re hoping to eventually have. So Brady and Simon chatted about the Sienna, Grace rested inside, (she’s so pregnant and it was freezing outside) while Isaac and I road tripped in the front seat. We counted gift cards we found in the console, and made lots of animal noises. I didn’t know cars made such a cool fart sound! Isaac talks a lot, but not too much in English yet. He knows the important words, and the ones he doesn’t say, he signs. I am very proud to say that he said Dekker’s name! TWICE! Go Isaac!!! We had some good giggles. It was nice to catch up with him 🙂 Love you, Isaac. *KISS*

We are happy to be home. After a nice scenic drive home, Dekker is fast asleep, happy to be in his own bed. We’re cuddling up with an easy supper and zoning for the evening, also happy to be in our own bed.

Life is good in the Born household. Its good to be home.
