A Lull

If anyone hasn’t noticed, my blogging has sort of gone downhill.

Since Christmas, everyone in my family has been sick. So Dekker and I spend a fair amount of time hanging out at home accomplishing next to nothing. He sleeps a lot, sometimes I watch “What Not to Wear,” and then I have a bubble bath at the end of the day. Not a lot of cute mom stories. As for my crocheting, I’ve felt super discouraged about it recently and haven’t created anything new recently. That being said, I have a few things pending that I just have to get up the nerve to get back to it. So no news there really.

I wonder if my blog would be more exciting if I picked one “angle” sort of, and just worked off of that. I like my blog being sort of a record of my life, something I’ll be able to look back on and see all the good stuff that happened. But I wonder if people would like it more if I focused on one thing more than the other. I sometimes feel like people must read my posts and think the following:

ecardOnly I’m lazier. So I’m not sure how to proceed. I don’t suppose anyone would be brave enough to give opinions on this, would you? Anyone have things they like to read about more than others?

Sometimes I feel sad for any males that read my blog and have had to suffer through crochet post after crochet post πŸ™‚ Sorry, boys! Tell me what you want!

Hailey I think you should write for you. Why should other people determine what you blog about, if someone is bored well they don’t have to read it right. I actually enjoy your posts about being a mom, and evetything that goes with it

I appreciate that Danielle, thanks πŸ™‚ You’re right. If what I write about doesn’t strike someones interest, they don’t have to read. I think I just feel boring and scatterbrained, haha! Hopefully it passes and I’m happier with my posts soon. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Hailey, I think it’s lovely that you share your life with us. Somethings we can relate too, and sometimes perhaps we can’t but we may in the future. My favorite book to read is a autobiography, someones story in one form or another. I learn a lot from some of them. So it’s a real gift you give. Thank you. Having said that I also say “be free”….. pretty sure your blog will be great no matter what you do. β™₯

If you decide to change your blog to have a particular theme, cool, but don’t do it because you think your blog is boring or uninteresting, because that is not true. I really enjoy your blog. The theme of “Hailey’s life, as is” is a really interesting theme because you’re honest about your life and you don’t pretend that everything is perfect. I get annoyed much more easily by a blogger that only posts about their exciting, productive days, or just about their successes. I like real people, and it is admirable that you confess publicly to being one.
If you want to pick a theme like “crocheting” or “being good at texting your boyfriend while you’re in the same room,” go ahead, but don’t diss thedaileyhailey. I like it a lot.

I like how you worded this, thanks πŸ™‚ I should definitely do at least one series of posts on texting my boyfriend in the same room though, good call πŸ˜‰
