My Latest Crocheted Creations

For the record, I was going for a wittier title, but all I could come up with was something that sounded a lot like “croatians,” which I did not actually craft in my basement. So I had no choice but to go normal. Also for the record, if I made a business, I think I’d go with something like ” Cafe Crochet,” or “Hailey’s Crochet Cafe” but who knows. I’m not a business at all, so I don’t technically have to think about names. But I can dream.

Anyway, records aside, I’ve finished some projects I’m excited about! I’ve talked about the slippers on here before I think, but I have some better pictures of them. I’ve also completed “orders” and then given them out without taking pictures. Whoops! I’m trying to be more diligent! But here are a few anyway. Some you may have seen already, but I’ll recap then.

Dekker’s boarder toque. I realized the day of Halloween that Dekker’s toques all have pompoms on them and wouldn’t fit into his costume. So I whipped this toque up in about an hour, and it turned out perfect, in my opinion. Just basic, I know, but he finally keeps it on and it looks just adorable!
Caity’s slippers. I promised my sister slippers last winter and then chickened out. So I decided to man up and make them this year! I promised ballet slippers, and somehow came out with something that looks more like Toms. But those are cool too I think.
However, ballet slippers were what she originally asked for, so I thought two pairs would maybe make up for my broken promise last year. Plus, these have double thick soles so they’ll last longer. What’s the best part about them, you ask?
Their purple soles, obviously!
Lastly, a new hat. Not necessarily for me. I’m not sure if red hair can work with a berry pinkish toque just yet. Plus it is a little large on my little noggin. Anyway, here is my latest hat! A slouchy hat, to be exact. From every angle, since this one doesn’t show much…
From the side. Looks a little lumpy right here, but I just hadn’t adjusted it. It does sit nice if I ask it to!
And the back. Just your average slouchy hat.

That’s really all I have for a post today, but I’m genuinely happy with how these things are turning out! Last year, I was only making scarves and toques. This year, I’m doing slippers too, which still isn’t stepping out of the box too much, I know. But my knowledge in “craft theory” is really expanding! I finally know the names of all the stitches, I’m learning new stitches and techniques, and I can easily read patterns. FINALLY!

And onto the next project!!!
