No, I don’t mean the Christian boy band. I mean that I was Jerilee’s date to a wedding reception this evening! Brady and I had been in the city with the kids in the morning already, but once we got home, we relaxed a little bit before I got ready and headed back out. It was fun to get all dressed up and ready to go out, but the weather was not the most cooperative! It was pouring rain the entire evening!! Thankfully, I love the rain, so it wasn’t too terribly off putting.
Jerilee and I sat with a table full of people that we didn’t know who didn’t know each other, and we actually had a really awesome time. They were all super fun people, and conversation never ran out. We ate well, supper and desserts. There was to be a dance after the meal, but we didn’t stay. Once supper and speeches were done, it was after 9:00, and we are old, and don’t stay out very late too often.
Instead, we drove back to her place and chatted in the van for a while. I like when we get wrapped up in conversation and lose track of time together. I feel like we haven’t just sat and talked in quite some time. Hopefully Friday, right, friend?
The drive home felt long, because it was POURING and dark, and the highway was particularly reflective. Just not a good night for being able to see super clearly. But I got home safe and sound! Brady was feeling so good after having a really nice evening with the kids. A successful, tear-free bath is always a win with the little ones 🙂 Rowan can finally sit in a bath seat, so he likes baths a lot more now. It was nice to come home to stories and pictures and videos of my happy, wet children. It’ll be good to cuddle them tomorrow morning, rain or shine, as always.
