The Daily Hailey

I was hit with a wave of nesting today. Honestly, it couldn’t be worse timed!

As Jerilee. She witnessed the whole thing. Brady and I are meeting up with all of my family (parents, siblings, etc) for a holiday this weekend. Therefore, we have plans to accomplish laundry, packing, and everything else on Wednesday. However, I had to do laundry today. As in I couldn’t shake it! Lucky for me, Jerilee spilled coffee on herself so I had a good excuse to do some laundry 🙂 Win win!

We talked baby names and ideas for a good chunk of the afternoon, and I ran things by her like what kind of changes I might want to try and make in the baby room. Since we’ve decided to cloth diaper, I’d really love to get a dresser to double as a change table so I’d have a nice place to store everything. I know I could just put baskets on the shelf in my current table, but honestly, I know I am not a tidy enough enough person to keep them looking nice. I would pull one out from the middle of the pile and leave a huge mess every time. I know me. I need a dresser. Anyone? Anyone?!

It didn’t help that my first chunk of diapers came in the mail today!!

Brady brought home a HUGE bag filled with individually wrapped diapers just waiting to be unpacked. I know I shouldn’t have been so excited but I was thrilled to open one up. And no lie, those things are sooo soft, I would wear them! Can’t wait for the rest from Winnipeg to make their way over! All I want to do is prep them and start using them on Dekker, but I have to buy the other laundry detergent tomorrow. No, you don’t actually have to use that super expensive “cloth diaper only” detergent. The natural stuff you get in bulk at Costco works just as well 🙂 Yay! Buying some tomorrow.

As I said, the timing of this nesting sucks. I’m sooo ready to get the baby room set up to accomodate baby #2, and get at least these diapers washed and ready, and start getting things in line. Brady even has a couple days off. But we’re going on a holiday. Which I am more than 150% pumped about, don’t get me wrong, but I’m scared I’ll lose momentum and won’t be so nesty when we get back. Well, either way, this baby will come, ready or not! Hopefully I’ll pull it together before then!

Until then, we have plenty to do to get ready for this weekend! Baking, cooking, packing, more laundry, dishes, and probably a lot of things I’m not thinking of. List, Hailey, lists!!!
