Updates all over the place!!

If you remember yesterdays post, I was feeling like garbage in the evening. I felt very heavy-chested and was finding it hard to catch my breath. I ate dinner in the middle of feeling crappy very quickly and then lay back on my left side for the remainder of the evening. After a while, I decided it was late enough that we should be going to sleep, so I got up to pee. I made it there, did what I came to do, and could barely stand up. I sat on the floor for a while, trying to pull it together. Brady offered numerous times to carry to our room or help me up, anything he could do for me, but I became super overwhelmed and burst out crying. I felt so awful and couldn’t convey it the way I wanted to. A sudden “revelation” hit, and I headed back to the toilet, where I puked out my guts somewhere between five and ten times. And then I was fine. Weak, and frozen, but fine. My theory behind this is based on how baby is laying in me. So very sideways, and a little breech. He or she made a valiant effort that morning to turn, which was super uncomfortable, and unsuccessful as far as I can tell. I feel like maybe baby was pressing in on important things that were making it hard to breathe, and that paired with how I had to lie in my bed on my side, my food couldn’t go down. Just a theory anyway. Debating making an appointment with my doctor sooner than later, just to run this by her. Thoughts?

However, despite the shorter night, I had a great day today! Dekker slept nice and late so I had lots of time to doze and pull myself together. I had some broth for breakfast and relaxed until he got up. I fed him breakfast and then we went to play downstairs, since its so much cooler there, and I can sit more comfortably. He was super cuddly right when he got down, and insisted on sitting on my lap. We even held hands, which he usually doesn’t allow, haha! Too confining I guess. Not today!!

He played sooo well until it was naptime. As I brought him up to his room, I heard voices outside my house again. So I lay him down and ventured outside. What a sight I saw!!!

IMG_1018The amazing volunteers from last Monday were back, cleaning up our yard! They hauled everything away with cheerful hearts. Not only did they clean up the big water bags tho…

IMG_1022All of the sandbags were emptied out to build up our driveway. They offered to haul them away, but then suggested we keep them to build up our driveway, which we gratefully accepted. But then, literally ten seconds later, they had all decided to just do it for us! I was feeling almost a little guilty for adding another thing to their list of jobs, but they assured me that they were there to serve, and also, this made it easier for them, not having to haul them away 🙂 Win win!

I spent a couple of hours just being outside and chatting with them. I was completely useless in the process, being that they estimated the weight of the sandbags to be between 40-50 lbs each. But they were happy to help, and even brought in the backhoe last minute to smooth everything out. SUCH a good afternoon 🙂

Dekker slept until 5:30, had dinner, and played toys while we waited for Brady. Once we had all played toys and watched The Little Couple, Dekker went down for night and Brady and I unloaded Dekker birthday present from the van 😀

I know, I know, Dekker’s birthday isn’t until August. But I saw an awesome deal on a Facebook garage sale that I couldn’t pass up!! We got Dekker a two part sand and water table with a little umbrella attached! Not only that, but it came with…fricking pregnancy brain…probably about seven big Tonka trucks! Some of them are even metal and extra manly, but they’re all super cool. There is also an excavator arm and a crane that attach directly to the table. It even all came with one of those blasted popping lawn mowers. I go a bit bonkers listening to his popping push toy inside, but outside, go hard my son! So it is a super good haul, and we clearly have no shortage of sand in this town now. If I wanted to fill his toy sand table with 3,000 sandbags, I think they’d be available to me. So one or two should suffice.

It really turned out to be a great day. I was bummed out because I had really fun stuff planned for today that I cancelled last night after puking my guts out. Lunch date with my mom, running some errands with Dekker, and a dinner date with friends and my husband and son. However, playing with my baby boy and being able to witness the clean up of my yard was amazing. So glad I was here for it 🙂

IMG_1023Still a little brown, but a HUGE improvement from just one week ago. God is good.
